《国际幼儿杂志》(IJEC)旨在将全球幼儿社区聚集在一起,促进研究知识的交流。其目的是促进早期教育和护理实践中的早期儿童领域的科学辩论和研究。本杂志发表的文章主要关注从出生到8岁的儿童。IJEC主要发表实证研究报告,但也接受研究综述,包括系统性文献综述。IJEC接受采用定性和定量研究方法的文章,使用教育和社会科学领域的学科知识,包括在中低收入国家进行的研究。IJEC有很强的应用重点,并寻求文章,引出对政策和专业实践的影响,在全国范围内。该杂志还出版了以幼儿为主题的论文和书评。
