《流行病学与全球卫生杂志》旨在通过发表以创新学术和战略为重点的文章来影响全球流行病学和国际卫生，以推进全球卫生政策。该杂志力求通过宣传减少传染性和非传染性疾病风险的努力来改善区域和全球卫生，并特别关注发表对根据流行病学和公共卫生研究所执行的政策的严格评估。在《流行病学与全球健康杂志》上，我们认为流行病学和公共卫生在科学上和从卫生政策的角度上都是紧密交织在一起的：一个领域的进展对另一个领域产生积极的影响。我们对流行病学进展与卫生政策倡议的实施之间的联系特别感兴趣，并最终发表疗效评估，包括对意外后果的评估。《流行病学与全球卫生杂志》受益于一个多样化的、多学科的、一个经验丰富的国际编辑委员会，将促进反映全球公共卫生观点的文章和观点的出版医学和流行病学。该杂志还旨在重点支持该领域公共卫生从业人员的学术、临床和实践需求。随着全球卫生医学遇到前所未有的问题--甲型H1N1流感大流行就是最近的一个例子--需要有想象力的方法来影响卫生政策、外交政策甚至移民政策。目前的学术文献不能很好地满足对多学科研究的需求，该杂志试图填补这一重要空白。
