《地球系统科学期刊》(Journal of Earth System Science)是一份国际期刊,早期是《印度科学院院刊》的一部分,A部分始于1934年,后来在1978年分成主题期刊。该期刊自1978年起以《地球与行星科学学报》(Proceedings - Earth and Planetary Sciences)的名义出版,并于2005年更名为《地球系统科学期刊》(Journal of Earth System Science)。该期刊是一份高度跨学科的期刊,发表地球系统科学的学术研究成果,包括新数据、新思想和新概念。重点是地球作为一个系统的演变:描述有限区域内因人为原因而发生的变化的手稿不予考虑,除非它们超出了描述变化的范围,包括对地球系统过程的分析。该杂志的范围包括固体地球(地圈)、大气、水圈(包括冰冻圈)和生物圈;它还涉及行星和空间科学的有关方面。特别欢迎有关印度次大陆和周围印度洋区域的捐款。鉴于大量的手稿报告了有限领域的观察结果或模型结果,预期在JESS上发表的手稿应至少满足以下三个标准中的一个。数据应具有相关性,并应具有统计学显著性,且来自此类数据稀少的地区。如果数据来自一个抽样良好的地区,数据量应该是相当大的,并推进我们对该地区的知识。一个模型的研究是为了解释观察报告无论是在同一手稿或在文献中。分析,无论是数据或模型,是新颖的,推论推进现有的知识。
