《碳平衡与管理》是一份开放获取、同行评审的在线期刊,涵盖了旨在制定与理解全球碳循环相关的全面政策的研究的所有方面。全球碳循环涉及气候、大气CO2以及陆地和海洋生物圈之间的重要耦合。目前由于气候和大气成分的变化而引起的碳循环的转变被广泛认为对生物圈和人类的福祉具有潜在的危险,因此,理解和预测整个生物圈中碳循环的演变(陆地和海洋)是对科学界的挑战。这就需要进行跨学科研究和采用新的方法来研究碳库和通量的地理和时间分布、碳-气候系统的控制和反馈机制,“碳平衡与管理”是该领域研究人员跨越学科界限传达研究成果的一个媒介。通过传播研究成果,该杂志旨在支持政府间气候变化专门委员会(气专委)的工作,并向政府和非政府组织提供即时获取不断出现的知识的途径,包括范式转变和共识。
