欢迎使用免疫细胞化学、分子和超微结构技术加强现代诊断病理学证据基础的原创研究手稿。此外，还将考虑关于诊断标准批判性评价的论文，以及具有坚实证据基础的大报和指南。还将考虑与理解人类病理学有关的其他领域的工作报告以及关于病理学新方法和新技术应用的手稿。不鼓励提交纯实验性文章，但欢迎提交适用于诊断病理学的实验性工作的手稿。生物标志物研究是受欢迎的，但需要遵守足够样本量和相关标志物选择的严格规则（例如REMARK）。通常不考虑对有限患者系列进行的未经验证的单标记物研究。仅当病例报告提供了对理解疾病或诊断实践有影响的实质性新信息时，才会考虑病例报告。
