《渔业管理与生态》是一本具有国际视野的期刊。该期刊发表的论文涵盖内陆、河口和沿海渔业的管理、生态和养护的所有方面。该期刊的目的是：促进了解维持、发展和管理鱼类种群和群落兴旺的条件，以及如何养护和改善它们及其生境;促进彻底了解渔业的双重性质，即渔业是为食物、娱乐和商业目的开发的宝贵资源，也是水生生境质量和养护状况的关键指标;帮助渔业管理人员集中注意政策、管理、业务、养护和生态问题;协助渔业生态学家更加了解管理人员对信息、技术、工具和概念的需要;将生态研究与管理的所有方面结合起来;确保渔业及其环境的养护成为渔业和水生管理的一个经常性主题。
