基本信息

生态学专著的愿景是,它应该是发表综合性、综合性论文的地方,阐述生态学领域的新方向。在生态学专著上发表的原创研究论文将继续记录复杂的观察、实验或理论研究,由于其非常综合的性质,不可能分解成集中于单一主题或信息的较短出版物。综述将是全面和综合的论文,在该领域建立新的基准,确定未来研究的方向,有助于对生态原则的基本理解,并得出最广泛意义上的生态管理原则(包括但不限于:保护、缓解、恢复和主动保护环境)。综述应反映一个主题的全面发展,包括相关的自然史、观察和实验数据、分析、模型和理论。发表在生态学专著中的评论应该进一步模糊“基础”和“应用”生态学之间的界限。概念和综合论文将在概念上推进生态学领域。这些论文的内容将远远超出正在审查的工作,并包括新方向的讨论,新的综合和解决老问题。在这个世界上的快速科学进步和永无止境的环境变化,需要有空间的科学思想,数据和概念的深思熟虑的整合,喂养的头脑和指导发展的成熟的生态科学。《生态学专著》提供了这样一个空间,对可持续发展的未来有着广阔的视野。
