《蛋白质杂志》（前身为《蛋白质化学杂志》）发表了关于蛋白质和肽的所有方面的原创研究工作。其中包括与共价或三维结构测定有关的研究（X射线、NMR、冷冻电镜、EPR/ESR、光学方法等），蛋白质结构和功能的计算方面、蛋白质折叠和错误折叠、装配、遗传学、进化、蛋白质组学、分子生物学、蛋白质工程、蛋白质纳米技术、蛋白质纯化和分析以及肽合成，以及蛋白质和肽的生物活性的分子基础的阐明和解释。我们接受原创的研究论文、评论、小型评论、假设、观点论文和给编辑的信件。
